The Core Facility Hohenheim is a technology and analytical center for handling
customer-specific, complex requests for the analysis of a wide range of sample matrices. For
more than 150 years, we have been supporting science, research, industry, and private
customers in solving analytical problems.
Our portfolio includes standard methods for investigating the composition of soils, plants,
foods, biological samples, and a wide variety of materials. In addition, we offer
identification and quantification of specific constituents as well as structure elucidation
by means of chromatography, spectrometry, spectroscopy and microscopy, along with
statistical and bioinformatic evaluations. We are looking forward to working with you to
solve your
individual challenges.
CFH – Hohenheim Analytics since 1865
Using both officially approved and customized methods from the fields of inorganic and organic chemistry, we determine the general and specific composition of a variety of sample matrices from the environmental, soil, food, feed, and pharmaceutical sectors. Among the analyzed parameters are: amino acids (incl. Tryptophan), crude fat content, fatty acids, crude protein/true protein, crude fiber, moisture (and dry matter), crude ash (total inorganic matter), elemental analysis (C, N, S), chemical elements (incl. As, Sb, Se, Hg), ammonium, and nitrate, lower monocarboxylic acids, fiber (aNDF, aNDFom, ADF, ADFom, ADL), sugar, cannabinoids etc.
Using our latest research equipment and investigation methods in high-resolution confocal laser scanning microscopes , correlative Raman and atomic force microscopy, environmental scanning electron microscope (with EDS). We can develop new analytical methods for evaluating structure-function relationships, localization of constituents, fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM), and 3D and live cell imaging. In addition, isotope ratio mass spectrometry can be applied to a wide range of sample matrices to perform mass flux and source analyses, or to detect contamination and food fraud.
Our advanced research equipment and innovative techniques in mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and chromatography allow us to provide top-notch research services in the field of metabolomics. Our services include identification and quantification of metabolites, and small organic molecules.
We provide research services utilizing our state-of-the-art research systems and cutting-edge techniques in mass spectrometry, we provide research services in the field of proteomics. Our services include identification and quantification of proteins, peptides and post-translational protein modifications.
In the field of statistics and data analysis, we link the whole range of services and thus enable a holistic statement about the generated data. The focus is on statistical-econometric questions as well as projects in the context of bioeconomics and bioinformatics. Furthermore, we offer support in scientific experimental design and data analysis.
Using a broad range of spectrometry and spectroscopy methods based on GC/MS, GC/MSMS, LC/MSMS, and NMR, we perform the qualification and quantification of various analytes in the field of proteomics, metabolomics, ionomics.
